Just a note about Delft Pottery...back in the Netherlands

When we left Amsterdam, the young man who checked us out said that we will have so much time waiting at the airport that I should use my time shopping for a Dutch souvenir. I asked what that would be....he said Delft Pottery. Then he ran back to his office and brought me this little Dutch girl and boy!
We flew on KLM airlines and I admired all of the blue and white Delft pottery on which they served their meals. Little blue cups, saucers, bowls. Even salt and pepper shakers in the shape of Dutch wooden shoes. At the end of the flight the attendant gave us these Delft Blue miniature traditional Dutch homes. They are filled with Dutch gin, also known as Genever. I guess they have become quite a collectors item. They design one a year. I could write more about Delft Pottery...but you will have to google it as there is too much to write here. It all started with the Dutch traveling to Asia and copying the porcelain designers from that area.
